"If you need a "tough" outdoor phone - this is it."

on January 15, 2010 by rushin2U
Pros: 1. Perform great for what it was designed.
2. Easy-to-use. Lit-up buttons.
3. Speakerphone quality is amazing!
4. Flashlights on these phones are BRIGHT - we already used it when got stranded in the woods!
5. 26 days of stand-by charge!

Cons: 1. Volume controls on the left side are hard to adjust while on the call - the up and down buttons could have been designed better.
2. 2.5 mm headphone jack
3. Wish it had non-verizon GPS software for hiking in the mountains.

Summary: My wife and I were looking for a strong, solid set of phones when we switched from ATT to Verizon (got tired of dropped calls, poor call quality).

We were not looking for smart phones of any kind. We go outdoors quite a bit and were looking for a phone with exactly the same features we found in this phone. In so far we found call quality to be great (we are not sure why so many poor reviews on the call quality), amazing speakerphone, decent camera quality to capture those unique moments when we don't have our digital camera present, Gz Gear has quite a few handy features, simplified menu.

Most importantly we know these phones will withstand freezing temperatures, water-resistant - they have already been tested by us in North-Central Washington. These phones perform well in mountains with PTT.

We care less for the music player, but did purchase micro-SDs for the photo and video storage and did through a few songs on them to test it out. Great music sound through the stereo!

Picture quality is great and easy-to-adjust the settings while in use.

The flip lid is attached in a very solid manner - nothing flimsy on this phone. We compared this phone for a few days to Barrage and a few other models. No comparison - these are right phones for us.

We are very happy with this purchase - no need to replace them for a few years.

Switchfoot's Hello Hurricane

Switchfoot is a popular band. They have produced 7 albums, all better than the last one. This band is always extremely emotional. The lead singer john Foreman loves music. He has an after show after ecery concert usually without lighting or pa system. He says he does it because he just loves music.
THe first song isn't worth listening to. It has the usual deep and wonderful lyrics or john Foreman but the instruments aren't interesting. The second is better than the first but still not fantastic. the fourth, fifth and sixth song is a slow song mostly concentrating again on meaningful lyrics, nothing worth writing about. All of the other songs except for three, which i will talk about later basically are the same as the first ones mentioned.
Now Finally the Songs worth listening to. Track 3 your love is a song is my favorite song. The Song starts with Foreman singing a emotional "Yeah" which pretty much sets up the thick intensity for the rest of the song. Throughout the song the volume crescindos and declines. At the climaxs john foreman is practically screaming. This undulating song is one of there best. The Album continues to Track 4 The Sound. This seems to be the most popular song of the album. The song is dedicated to john perkins, cant say that a know who that is. The voice in the song at parts is tampered with to make it drag on longer. The drums are solid in this song again Foreman gets really into it. Hello hurricane, the song the album is named after is another good song. This song is mellower than the other two songs. The song is about how nothing can silence his love for im guessing a girl.
Great Album. all the songs are desent with a few great ones mixed in i would suggest buying this song for anyone that like other switchfoot cds.

Marvin Gaye

whats going on? a good queston to ask in the crazy time period. It's theme is an anti-war meaning. It also talks about the how the violence in reaction to the war also needs to stop.
I like the song because of the kind of melowness to it. its very catchy to the ear. also Gaye obviously has a good voice. The fact the entire album is just one continous noise is also pretty sweet.
